I am a finalist for the ABC/DGA Directing Fellowship!

It was an unusually balmy night in San Francisco on Wednesday when my phone rang. It interrupted me while I was reading the “Celestine Prophecy” on the train on my way to a meeting. The female voice said , “Hello, I am Janine Jones, and I’m calling you to tell you that you are a finalist for the ABC/ DGA Directing Fellowship”. What?!?! My heart pounded as I almost jumped off the chair. “Your voice sounds familiar, we have met before, haven’t we?,” I replied. “No, we haven’t met yet,” she said, “but we will soon”. She then explained that as a finalist I needed to be in L.A. next week for an interview with a panel. Needless to say, I have been elated since I began visualizing what opportunities may come into my life with this fellowship. Coincidentally, I have been having a recurring dream about directing a cast of amazing actors, who perform to their fullest potential, and portray marvelous sensibility and depth. But as the “Celestine Prophecy” puts it, there are no coincidences. You just have to follow your intuition.
